Denise Godfrey is a Child and Youth Engagement Coach at COTS, where she mentors children
ages 8-17. They are coached in Social Emotional Learning, Health and Well Being, Self-Regulation, Preparing for Independence, and Educational Progress. She attended Wayne State University for Mortuary Science but her life took a different direction and she chose the regular workforce.
She has a Financial Coaching Certificate from Central New Mexico Community College. Denise facilitates the financial literacy workshops for the parents and children at COTS. She is currently working on her certification from the Chicago Parenting Program and will be obtaining her
Child Development Associate credential soon.
Ms. Godfrey was a bank manager for 13 years and decided she wanted to live in her true purpose which is serving homeless families in the city of Detroit.
