Chennele Laster-Bey
Chennele Laster-Bey is an advocate for education, a voice for educators, and a life-long learner. Her life's philosophy is "I want to be the stone that creates the ripple." Chennele has always had a passion for education, and when asked about her "why" of education?" She simply answers "it is my calling."
Chennele was born and raised on Detroit's east side. As a top graduate of Denby High School, she began her post secondary career with an academic scholarship to Central Michigan University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education and later earned her Masters of Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University. Chennele has served as a classroom educator for over 12 years and a school administrator for the past 3 years. Her current position as an Elementary Dean allows her to work closely with classroom teachers, coaching and supporting them with best teaching practices to ensure the success of every young child and adult.
One of Chennele's lifelong goals is to ultimately own and operate her very own educational facility. She is determined to ensure that future generations have a fair chance and understand just how important education is in the world. Education begins at home, and there are no limits to how much learning can take place in the minds of our youth. Chennele credits her success and gains her inspiration from her family, specifically her three Young Kings. She wants to be the influence that motivates them to go as far as they can go in life, and to live each moment purposefully, memorably, and joyfully.

With many adventures on the horizon, Chennele fulfills her free time with self-care and wellness opportunities. As a member of numerous organizations, she is very involved with giving back to the community. For one day, the prosperity of her name will remain honorable as the legacy of her vision becomes the ripple that will reach generations to come.
